Seaweed is one of the most nutritional forms of plant life available.  For this reason it is widely used by organic farmers, domestic pet owners, and exotic fish keepers everywhere.  Dairy Direct Ascophylum is made with 100% freshly harvested seaweed from the west coast of Scotland.

Feeding seaweed as a mineral supplement improves the animal’s ability to digest, therefore enabling it to make better use of available feeds.  It is particularly recommended at times when the animal could become stressed.  For example, a change of environment after winter housing or putting out to grass.

Seasure fed prior to serving and during gestation has shown an increase in fertility and condition of the animal.  If feeding is continued into lactation, an improvement in quality of milk and the length of lactation, is not unusual.

How are Ascophylum Seaweed  Granules and Flour are produced:

The Ascophylum, in Seasure is harvested only from a specially designated area, off the West Coast of Scotland.

After harvesting, the seaweed is kept in the sea, in its natural environment, before the grinding and drying process.  This precise treatment ensures the equilibrium and purity are maintained.

Seaweed absorbs many of the minerals that are naturally occurring in the sea.  As seaweed is 100% Organic, the elements absorbed are in correct proportion to each other and are readily available to the animal.

The Seaweed is washed and dried within 48 hours of being taken from the sea.  The drying process is controlled to regulate temperature and moisture levels.  There are no chemicals used during any stage of the processing.

After passing through the grinding stage of production, the product is packaged before being stored in a defined warehouse.  

Finished product has an indefinite shelf life, although it is recommended that the product is used within 3 years.
